Seamless Style in Exmouth

Project Overview

Modern Nobilia Kitchen in Exmouth; Mr and Mrs Colvin approached Kitchen Kit Exeter as part of a wider home renovation, extending their property to create a brand-new modern Nobilia kitchen & dining space. Their aim was to develop a sleek, modern environment that would feel sociable and stylish while also aligning with the updated look throughout the rest of the home. The new kitchen needed to deliver both impact and practicality, with enough space for cooking, hosting, and everyday family living.

Modern Nobilia Kitchen in Exmouth: Solving Common Layout Issues and Planning a Seamless Kitchen Installation

The design brief focused on creating a minimalist kitchen that felt warm and inviting. However, there were a few design challenges to address. A large structural pillar could not be removed, so it needed to be seamlessly integrated into the layout. Additionally, a small recessed nook required clever treatment to ensure it felt connected to the kitchen without interfering with core functionality or storage. Finally, the clients wanted a dining table to be incorporated into the kitchen itself, making it a true multi-purpose space.

Modern Nobilia Kitchen in Exmouth: Cabinet Designs and Surface Finishes to Transform Your Space

The kitchen features Nobilia LineN cabinetry in a striking combination of Riva Concrete Terra Grey and Structura Havana Oak. This pairing strikes a perfect balance between industrial texture and natural warmth. The clients loved the raw look of concrete but also wanted the room to feel welcoming, hence the choice to integrate timber-effect finishes. The cabinetry’s clean lines and handleless profile contribute to the sleek, minimalist aesthetic.

Best Worktops and Surfaces to Pair with a Nobilia Kitchen Design

To maintain visual cohesion, we selected Nobilia SlimLine Laminate Worktops in Concrete Terra Grey. This material offers a refined, slim-edge profile that enhances the kitchen’s modern silhouette. By keeping to a tight palette of textures and tones, we were able to create a seamless, high-end finish that feels both stylish and calm.

Best Appliances and Smart Technology to Pair with a Nobilia Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a full suite of Neff appliances, including a single oven, combination oven, integrated fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, all chosen for their intuitive functionality and timeless design. A Bora hob was selected to provide a streamlined cooking solution at the heart of the space, with built-in extraction that eliminates the need for overhead obstructions, preserving clean sight-lines.

Modern Nobilia Kitchen in Exmouth: Smart Additions and Design Details That Elevate the Space

To further enhance the space, we included:
• Cladding, floating shelving, and a bespoke dining table, all crafted in Havana Oak
• Pantry units with deep drawers, offering functional, accessible storage solutions
• Multifunctional island, combining prep space, the hob, bar seating, and the integrated dining table
• Lighting fitted by the builder to highlight the layout and textures throughout

The Final Result

The finished kitchen is a true reflection of contemporary design principles, minimalist, functional, and full of thoughtful detail. With a strong yet calming aesthetic, abundant hidden storage, and zones for cooking, dining, and socialising, it’s a kitchen that adapts beautifully to daily life. The blend of concrete textures and warm wood tones ensures the space feels modern without being cold.
