Two Contemporary Nobilia Kitchens at Arch Hill, Truro

Kitchen Kit Truro worked with a local developer from the early stages of a two-home development at Arch Hill in Truro. The brief called for kitchens that would sit naturally within open-plan living and dining spaces: neutral and contemporary in appearance, practical for everyday use, and welcoming when people gather around the island. Kitchen Kit also designed a utility room for each home so that the storage and finishes could carry through beyond the main kitchen.

What was the brief for the two homes?

The developer wanted each kitchen to make a strong first impression without overpowering the open-plan room. Both layouts needed an island with seating and enough storage to keep the working areas clear. Early involvement in the build gave the Kitchen Kit team an opportunity to plan the cabinetry, appliances and utility rooms alongside the wider scheme.

How do the kitchens balance sociable space and storage?

In both plots, the island defines the kitchen zone while leaving the room connected to the living area. The island provides a place to gather and prepare food, with a Siemens venting hob set into the worktop. Tall cabinetry brings together the ovens and larder storage. The sink run sits beneath a window, keeping the working area bright. Under-worktop lighting adds a discreet finish to the islands.

Which materials and appliances were chosen?

Nobilia Easytouch doors in Sand establish the calm, contemporary palette, paired with recessed stainless-steel handles and 20mm Silestone Calacatta Gold worktops. The Siemens appliance selection includes a single oven, combination oven, warming drawer, venting hob, dishwasher, larder fridge, larder freezer and wine cooler. A Blanco undermount sink and stainless-steel Quooker Flex boiling water tap complete the sink area.

How does Plot 1 look?

Plot 1 uses the soft Sand cabinetry and pale worktops to keep the open-plan room light. The island faces towards the living space, with the ovens and tall storage behind it. A coordinated utility room continues the practical approach away from the main kitchen.

What distinguishes Plot 2?

Plot 2 follows the same overall brief but brings warm wood-look accents into view around the island and sink run. The project notes also record a corner tambour unit for this plot. Its separate utility room extends the coordinated finish and provides more space for everyday tasks.

What was the result?

The two kitchens give each new home a focal point as the open-plan space comes into view. Their restrained palette allows the islands, worktops and considered details to stand out, while the storage and utility rooms keep the design useful beyond first impressions. The project was completed in July 2026 by Kitchen Kit Truro.
