This Nobilia Easytouch kitchen was designed for a home renovation project in Chudleigh, Devon, transforming the existing kitchen into a modern, practical and highly considered kitchen dining space.
By combining Mineral Green cabinetry with Structura Havana accents, Dekton worktops and a carefully planned island layout, the finished kitchen delivers a warm, contemporary space with strong everyday functionality.
What were the goals for the new kitchen?
The client wanted to modernise the existing kitchen and create a more open, usable space with an island and a full larder bank.
The project also involved wider renovation work, including removal of the existing kitchen, electrical work, plumbing and new flooring, with Kitchen Kit working alongside trusted partners to support the full transformation.
What design challenges did we solve, and how?
One of the main design challenges was the ceiling height. To make the tall units work neatly within the space, the lowest possible plinth was used so the cabinetry could sit snugly to the ceiling.
The design also needed to include cooking, plumbing, storage and island functionality within the available layout. Careful planning allowed these elements to be brought together without compromising the flow of the room.
A bespoke coffee machine area was created inside a larder unit, adding a practical breakfast station while keeping the design clean and organised.
To prevent the larder bank from feeling too plain, the ovens were stepped out and accented in Structura Havana, adding warmth, contrast and visual interest.
Which cabinets and worktops did we choose, and why?
The kitchen features Nobilia Easytouch cabinetry in Mineral Green, chosen for its soft, earthy tone and contemporary finish.
Structura Havana was introduced as an accent finish, helping to break up the tall cabinetry and bring natural warmth into the design.
Bronze handlerails were selected to complement the colour palette and reinforce the warm, natural feel of the kitchen.
Dekton Polar 20mm worktops complete the scheme, providing a durable and elegant surface suited to everyday cooking, preparation and entertaining.
Which appliances and features complete the kitchen?
The kitchen includes a full suite of NEFF appliances, including two single ovens, a venting hob, dishwasher, tall fridge and under counter freezer.
The venting hob allows extraction to be built directly into the island, keeping the space open without the need for overhead extraction.
A Blanco undermount sink and Icona Choice 5 in 1 tap complete the sink area, adding both practicality and a premium finish.
Additional features include island lighting, a pull out kick step, a breakfast station unit and carefully planned storage throughout the kitchen.
How does the finished kitchen work day-to-day?
The finished kitchen has transformed the space into a modern and practical kitchen dining area that works beautifully for everyday life.
The island provides a central area for cooking, preparation and socialising, while the larder bank and breakfast station keep storage organised and easy to access.
The result is a highly functional kitchen with a warm, contemporary look, giving the client a space that feels both stylish and personal.
