Project Overview
Completed in September 2025 by Kitchen Kit Truro, this Nobilia Flash Door handleless kitchen transformed a newly downsized home in Marazion, Cornwall. Having relocated from a larger country property, the homeowner wanted to update the kitchen to better reflect her personal style while maximising light, accessibility, and everyday usability within a more compact space.
What were the goals for the new kitchen?
The primary aim was to create a bright, open, and welcoming kitchen that made the most of the property’s coastal setting. Downsizing meant the space needed to work harder, with thoughtful storage solutions and easy access to appliances. The homeowner also wanted a clean, contemporary look that felt light and timeless, enhancing both the kitchen itself and the wider open-plan living area.
What design challenges did we solve, and how?
Working within a smaller footprint required careful planning to ensure the kitchen felt open rather than constrained. To maximise natural light and create a sense of space, we specified a white gloss finish to reflect light throughout the room. Accessibility was another key consideration, so ovens were positioned at eye level and storage was designed with pull-out larder units and deep drawers, making everything easy to reach and use on a daily basis.
Which cabinets and worktops did we choose, and why?
We selected Nobilia Flash Door in Alpine White with a Line N handleless design, delivering a sleek, minimalist aesthetic that enhances the sense of openness within the space. The high-gloss finish reflects light beautifully, helping the kitchen feel larger and brighter. The cabinetry is paired with 20mm Lumi White iQuartz worktops, chosen for their clean appearance, durability, and ability to complement the crisp white cabinetry without overpowering the design.
Which appliances and sinks complete the look?
The kitchen is fitted with a full suite of Siemens iQ500 appliances, including a single oven, combination oven, and fridge freezer. These were selected for their reliability, ease of use, and modern design. A Blanco double bowl undermount sink in satin steel provides both practicality and a refined finish, sitting seamlessly within the iQuartz worktop.
What finishing touches make everyday life easier?
A glass splashback enhances light reflection and adds a subtle contemporary detail, while open shelving introduces flexibility for display and everyday items. The inclusion of a pull-out larder unit improves organisation and accessibility, ensuring storage remains efficient without cluttering the space. Every element has been considered to support comfortable, everyday living in a compact kitchen environment.
How did it all come together in the end?
The finished kitchen is a bright, airy open-plan space that feels calm, functional, and perfectly suited to its coastal location. The combination of Alpine White cabinetry, iQuartz worktops, and carefully planned storage delivers a timeless design that maximises light and usability. With views across the Marazion coast, the kitchen now feels like a natural focal point of the home, supporting both everyday living and relaxed entertaining.
